Each competitor must prepare one work from each of the following groups (points). Each round is eliminatory.

Age category C

First Round
  1. a sonata at choice by J. S. Bach - two movements
  2. S. Karg-Elert - 30 Caprices - one at choice
N. Paganini - 24 Caprices, op.1 - arr. by Jules Herman

Second Round

     3. a work at choice by:
  • G. Enescu - Cantabile and Presto
  • G. Faure - Fantaisie
  • C. Chaminade - Concertino
     4. first movement from one of the following concertos:
  • J. Haydn, W.A. Mozart, J. Quantz, C. Stamitz, M. Blavet, M. Gretry, L. Boccherini
     5. a work at the competitor's free choice

Age category D

First Round
  1. two movements from a work at choice by:
    • J.S. Bach - Partita for solo flute in A minor BWV 1013
    • C. Ph. E. Bach – Sonata for solo flute in A minor Wq 132
     2. a solo work at choice (max. 10 min.)

Second Round

    3. two movements from a sonata at choice by:
  • S. Prokofiev, O. Taktakishvili, R. Muczynski, L. Liebermann, W. Piston, A. Jolivet, J. Feld, F. Poulenc, B. Martinu, C. Reinecke, C. M. Widor
    4. one work from the following:
  • H. Dutilleux – Sonatine
  • P. Sancan – Sonatine
  • O. Messiaen – Le Merle noir
  • F. Martin – Ballade
  • A. Jolivet – Chant de Linos
  • T. Takemitsu – Voice
  • L. Berio – Sequenza

Final

    5. a virtuosity work at choice by:

The works in the Final Round must be performed from memory. For all the other works, scores may be used.
