The Jazz comes down from the Alps to Bucharest. On funk rhythms.
Music has humor. It’s just that no one knew it until there was Stelzhamma. An acoustic delight, meant to tickle the ears, spirits and even the narrowest of tastes. An unusual combination of jazz and traditional Austrian music, rounded from place to place with funky notes: Stelzhamma wears its traditions with pride and irony at the same time. If you are curious to know how irrationally well laughers sound next to accordion, saxophone, clarinet and tuba, we expect to join the Austrians in the concert hall. Sorry, but the Austrian beer is not included.

(Hungarian) highway blues in Bucharest
Blues was born in America, but Blues Radio Budapest makes it sound in Hungary as it does in its native land. The hardcore harmonica, guitar riffs, the throaty voice of a veteran biker win the respect of any connoisseur of blues reminding of ZZ Top, Eric Clapton and Stevie Ray Vaughan. Strong voices, charisma, texts filled with substance, instrumentalists which give life to songs that can awake long forgotten emotions. (In a nutshell,) QL – the only funk band in Romania and the only one who knows the right approach of an unjustly neglected music genre.

The 2009 BIJC winners return a year later to EUROPAfest. The festival is proud of having back on its stages the six young Armenians, whose project strengthens the organizers’ faith in young musicians’ potential and in the contest founded in 2007. It is a fresh ethnic-jazz which embraces strong archaic sounds, but from an innovative and modern perspective.
