The chameleons of blues

Having its roots in Salzburg, the band represents a unique fusion of jazz, Balkan rhythms, cabaret music of the 50’s and reggae, all wrapped-up in an urban style spiced with influences from the places where they performed: Austria, Germany, Hungary, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Israel and Egypt. Following the chameleonic evolution of lead singer David Lageder, who can easily go from one register to another, the band succeeds in making the audience feel emotions ranging from melancholy to childish happiness.

Brazilians know how to make jazz sound hot! An outstanding talent, Ari Borger is an artist who invested a lot of his time and love in music. Growing up in New Orleans, listening to Brazilian music, jazz and blues, today Ari Borger is the leading pianist and organist in Brazil. Modern and vintage at the same time, the quartet’s music interweaves, with a lot of energy and feeling, a little bit of blues, jazz, soul and Brazilian music. The freedom and easiness with which the four musicians create an authentic and wholesome sound are the living proof that music has to be felt, before all things.
The band evolved on the stages of the biggest jazz and blues festivals next to B.B. King, Pinetop Perkins, Marcus Miller and Johnnie Johnson.

Tradition and virtuosity in jazz

Their music is defined as a modern ethnic-jazz which sheds a new light upon a series of archaic sounds. Special guest at The Yerevan International Jazz festival, winner of the Grand Prize at Bucharest International Jazz Competition 2009, the band has one of the most appreciated “ethno-folk-jazz” albums and has encountered a big success in their latest tour in the USA. Wayne Brown is one of the best pianists in Afro-American jazz. His love for this genre and his ongoing wish to discover new influences and various styles have progressively led him toward fruitful collaborations with Billy Ocean, Ruby Turner, Earth, Wind and Fire, Stevie Winwood, Jonathon Butler, George Michael, whom he worked with as writer and producer, and with Coleman Hawkins, Tal Farlow and Virtual Jazz Band, whom he joined as musician. In 2000, he composed the soundtrack for Teish O’ Day, which has offered him the opportunity to hold a concert at the Burt Bacharach tribute, at The Royal Albert Hall. In 2007, he has produced an album dedicated to the commemoration of 200 years from the abolition of slavery. This album reunites the finest Afro-American jazz voices, past and present.

The electrifying and cosmopolitan feel of the concert, the free spirit of musicians from all over Europe and USA, create the atmosphere of the big cities, where jazz is a form of life. For a few hours, the vivid atmosphere ties friendships between one side of the stage and the other, leaving behind the sensation of a revelation.
This way, through jazz, the musicians experiment, venture and challenge themselves but most of all they enjoy blues, jazz, Balkan and Afro-american rhythms or world music together, much to the delight of the audience. Everything happens spontaneously, with no previous rehearsals, only on inspiration and instant improvisation.
